Trash Talks Workshop brings people together to discuss tangible ways to reduce and eliminate the usage of single-use waste from their day-to-day lives. Specifically, the education on products, markets, services etc., that are local to Metro Vancouver will be focused upon, to promote self sustainability as well. Common hurdles such as costs, accessibility, and ease of implementation will be addressed and solutions will be promoted.

Organic Matter Recycling Regulation (OMRR): Summary of Public Input in Response to 2018 Intentions Paper Posted

The BC Ministry of Environment, Environmental Protection & Sustainability, has released the report summarizing the public responses to its 2018 Organic Matter Recycling Regulation & Guidance (OMRR) intentions paper.  The intentions paper was released in fall of 2018 for the proposed amendments to the OMRR under the Environmental Management Act (EMA).

These efforts are meant to provide valuable safety materials to the haulers who visit facilities every day who face serious risk of injury and fatality. Collecting waste and recyclables is the 5th most dangerous job in the United States and is very hazardous in other countries as well.
