The Expansive Woman Project
Our SWANA Pacific Chapter has an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the Expansive Project to promote a specialized training course designed specifically for women in the solid waste industry. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our Chapter’s mission to enhance professional development and promote inclusivity within our field.

Background

The Expansive Woman Project, led by Judy Sims, is tailored for women in traditionally male-dominated sectors like ours, focusing on developing a strong executive presence. The training was recently held in Ontario with over 125 women completing the training and providing positive feedback.

Now, our Chapter has the opportunity to partner with the Expansive Woman Project to provide critical support for women at various stages in their careers, equipping them with essential skills and resources to thrive in our industry.

Program Details

The upcoming Western cohort of the Women in Waste Expansive Woman Project (WOW West) is set to commence in January 2025. The training program will span five weeks, featuring 90-minute sessions held weekly on Thursdays at 10:30 AM PST. A discounted rate of $225 per participant (a significant reduction from the standard $1,200 fee) is being offered to our Pacific Chapter members.

The Pacific Chapter is supporting this initiative; we are committed to fostering diverse opportunities within the solid waste management industry. This collaboration also positions our Chapter as a leader in empowering talented women in our field.
