SWANA has issued a press release announcing industry fatality numbers for the first half of 2021, reporting that on-the-job worker fatalities have decreased by 50% in 2021 compared to the previous three years in the United States and Canada. While this is encouraging news, third party accidents, where a member of the public is killed in a solid waste related accident, remain the same in 2021 compared to previous years.
