Are you or your staff adequately equipped and trained to operate your compost facility? If not, join us for the Compost Facility Operators Course! SWANA members can apply for 15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) when they have completed the training program.

This intensive three-day course is offered in conjunction with SWANA and the Compost Council of Canada. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the composting process and of the operational, technical, environmental, and legal issues related to large-scale composting of organic waste material.

The course is recommended for Composting Facility Operators and Managers, Consultants, Suppliers of Compost Equipment and Public Officials involved in organic waste management.

The course instructor will be Dr. John Paul. Dr. Paul has been specializing in composting and organic waste management for more than 20 years, and has taught more than 20 Compost Facility Operator Courses since 2007!

The course includes a copy of the Compost Facility Operator Training Manual, written by Drs. John Paul and Dieter Geesing, updated and reprinted in 2015.

The course is a hands-on training program, with practical exercises, and a field trip.
