2022 Pacific Northwest Regional Symposium Call for Presentations

The SWANA Pacific Chapter (British Columbia & Yukon) is pleased to host the Pacific Northwest Regional Symposium on Wednesday, April 27 through Friday April 29, 2022. This year’s Symposium theme is Winds of Change – Achieving Sustainability in Solid Waste.  

Please consider submitting an abstract and share your expertise on the following:

  • Glass
  • Plastics
  • Organics
  • Collections
  • Fiber / Paper
  • Wood
  • Metal
  • PFAS
  • Waste to Energy
  • Disaster Debris Management
  • Product Stewardship and EPR
  • Waste and Material Reduction
  • Managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
  • Post Fire Hazardous Waste
  • Responsible management of end-of-life renewable energy materials and infrastructure

Email your abstract submission to [email protected] by Friday, December 3, 2021 including the following:

  • Presentation topic from the above bulleted list
  • Presentation title (15 words or less)
  • Presentation abstract (300 words or less)
  • Biography (200 words or less)

Please note:

  • Abstracts will be selected based on alignment with the listed topics and relevance to solid waste professionals
  • Selected abstracts will be determined by January 31, 2022 and presenters notified via email
  • Selected presenters will be eligible to register for the Pacific Northwest Regional Symposium at a reduced rate
  • Student submissions are encouraged
  • All presentations will be included in the symposium proceedings posted on the SWANA Pacific web page
