Batteries power many of the devices we use every day, but improper handling or disposal—especially lithium-ion batteries—can pose serious fire risks to people, property, firefighters, and the environment. Running throughout July and August, the Protect What Matters. Be Battery Safe campaign helps municipalities educate residents about these risks and encourages safe battery recycling through approved drop-off locations. ![]()
