The YP Committee is looking for a self-starter with a passion for furthering the professional development of the next generation of solid waste professionals!
This position provides valuable experience for those interested in developing leadership skills and networking with peers and experts across the industry. Be part of creating opportunities for meaningful connections that will shape the future of the industry!
Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly YP committee meetings
- Contribute at SWANA Pacific Board meetings (quarterly), SWANA Pacific conferences and the Annual General Meeting held annually at SWANA Day
- Connect with your counterparts in Region 2 (Northwest US and Canada)
- Oversee YP networking nights and events with assistance of the committee members
Requirements/Qualifications
- SWANA Member
- Express a genuine interest in the solid waste industry and the environment
- Support from supervisor (if required) to take on the role
Time Period
This position requires minimum 1 year commitment for approximately 3-5 hours per month. Evening availability is required for some events and meetings.
