The Recycling Regulation, under authority of the Environmental Management Act, sets out the requirements for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in BC EPR requires producers to take responsibility for designated products, including collection and recycling. This gives producers the flexibility to find efficient and innovative ways to meet regulated outcomes that prevent waste disposal, improve recycling, and support re-use and resource recovery.
The ministry proposed to regulate more products under EPR and other waste reduction policy approaches to ensure that more items are managed responsibly.As promised, links to Recycling regulation consultation documents:
