About the Course:

The Manager of Transfer Station Systems training course provides a comprehensive overview of the key considerations involved in the design, operation and management of transfer stations. The course emphasizes effective communication strategies and practical approaches for addressing challenges in planning and operations, as well as the ways in which design decisions influence construction and long-term functionality.

The program includes classroom lectures, interactive activities, a facility tour and all meals (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 5 coffee breaks). This course is designed to help prepare attendees for the Canadian Transfer Station Systems Certification exam administered by SWANA.  Please note that the SWANA certification exam is not included; participants must register for and complete the exam independently.

What is the refund policy?

A full refund minus a $75 administration fee will be issued prior to 30 days (February 9, 2026) before the MTS training course. Full charge applicable thereafter. Although refunds will not be issued within 30 days of the training which the participant is registered for, substitutions ARE allowed. Please call or email request to info@swanabc.org.

As we will be utilizing the Transfer Station Systems Canadian training manual, once a manual has been purchased, it cannot be returned or refunded. You will be charged for the manual.

What are the days and times?

This will be a 3 day training course being held on Tuesday, March 10 to Thursday, March 12, 2026 starting at 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM PST each day.

Does this include the SWANA MTS training exam?

The training course does not include the MTS certification exam. All certification exams are offered online by swana.org and can be completed at any time. The exam costs $250 USD for SWANA members and $400 USD for non-members. Note that SWANA Pacific cannot register you for the exam and does not administer the exam.
