Landfill Fire Training – Virtual

This training course provides landfill personnel, firefighting professionals, and regulatory inspectors with the knowledge and practical insight needed to effectively manage and respond to landfill fires. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of fire behaviour within landfill environments, explore the causes and various fire types, and learn proven prevention strategies. The course also highlights best practices and response techniques to safely and efficiently control landfill fire incidents while minimizing risk to people, infrastructure, and the environment.

This course is ideal for professionals involved in landfill design, operations, and oversight, including owners, managers, supervisors, foremen, scalehouse operators, equipment operators, spotters, and labourers.

Fire service personnel and regulatory officials will also benefit from this training, gaining valuable insight into the unique challenges and risks with landfill fire events.

As this training course will be delivered online via Zoom, participants must have access to a computer will a video camera and reliable internet connection.

To ensure sufficient time for the preparation and delivery of course materials, registration will close on May 19. Early registration is strongly encouraged to allow for timely shipment of the training manual. Registrations received after this date will still be accepted; however, delivery of the course manual prior to the training cannot be guaranteed.
