Scope of Work

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Zero Waste Outreach Programs Coordinator is responsible for the management, development and promotion of all IZWTAG outreach programs, including the annual IZWTAG Day, the websites, social media channels, newsletters, news releases, special events and community zero waste programs. She/he will work with other team members and partners to expand IZWTAG’s network and ability to support new and improved policy and implementation for First Nations zero waste systems.

Qualifications

As an indigenous-led organization, IZWTAG aims to recruit First Nations personnel. Additionally, the role is for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated experience working with First Nation communities and government and non-government agencies.
  • Proven capability to work independently.
  • 5+ years’ work experience in solid waste management and/or public works.
  • Formal communications and/or project management training.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with driving record in good standing.
  • Proficiency with Zoom, MS Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and abilities in English.
  • Great interpersonal skills, easily approachable.
  • Proven ability to coordinate volunteers.

Work Hours

IZWTAG operates on a Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm schedule. This position can turn full-time up to 5 days per week (35 hours), depending on project needs, and could include flexible work hours and locations.

Compensation

The total anticipated salary for this position is $62,400 annually. Eligible expenses will be reimbursed up to $5000 annually. This position could also be hired on a contract basis and renewed annually.
