It is official!! The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) - British Columbia Pacific Chapter is pleased to announce the 24th annual Pacific Northwest Regional Symposium will be held at the Best Western Richmond Hotel & Convention Centre in Richmond, British Columbia, March 29 to April 3, 2009.  Mark your calendar for your best opportunities in training, networking, and marketing of your services.

Solid waste professionals in the Pacific Northwest have been leaders in the development of many new concepts and ideas to encourage and assist in the sustainable management of solid wastes.  As these and other challenges are common to solid waste managers and operators in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and neighbouring states and provinces, the theme chosen for the 2009 symposium is One World – Many Solutions.  Technical and Plenary sessions will be featured Wednesday, April 1 through Friday, April 3.  Click here for the PDF of the call for Papers and contact Mike Stringer or Ron Driedger as noted on the attachment.

In a time of intense change and unpredictability, creativity is increasingly important.  The art of tapping into the power of imagination must be propelled to unprecedented heights.  The processes of ‘defining’, ‘imagining’, ‘initiating’ and ‘implementing’ are more important than ever; while the hidden dangers of tunnel vision and pigeonholing into the tried and true carry more risks than ever.  This is your opportunity to present a topic during one of the three days of Plenary and Technical Sessions.
