Since 1994 the Pacific Chapter of SWANA has offered each year a number of scholarship awards to encourage students studying in disciplines related to solid waste management at British Columbia universities or colleges.  In this time, 48 scholarship awards totalling over $28,000 have been provided to students from eight different post-secondary institutions throughout the Pacific Chapter.  Last year the awards were $1000 each.

We have set a full SWANA DAY with sessions and our AGM for Monday, November 29.  We intend to live up to our mission as the leading organization in integrated waste resource management in BC and the Yukon.

BIG changes on the www.swana.org Members Only section were previewed to the Chapter Officers on March 4, 2010.  Bob Wolfe and David Hernandez provided an excellent WebEx session that provides an EXCELLENT introduction to the new features and functionality.
